Dear Parents/Carers
We would like to share with you the following guidance from the UKHSA and what to do if you suspect your child might have Strep A:
Your child must not come into School if you suspect / have been informed that they have Strep A or Scarlet fever. Please ensure you notify School of the reason for their absence as soon as possible.
NHS guidance states you should avoid mixing with certain groups of people – for example, anyone who is pregnant or immunosuppressed.
Please remember the importance of good hand and cough hygiene to help prevent the spread of infection:
When your child feels well enough to be able to return to School please contact the school who will discuss arrangements for their return.

YEAR 10 TRANSITION TO KS4 EVENING INFORMATION.pdf
At Shevington High School we have high expectations of all of our students and want them to do their best. We want to work in partnership with parents / carers to provide all the help and support needed. Therefore we would like to invite you to a meeting regarding the transition from KS3 to KS4 next term. We want them to be prepared for the challenges ahead and we want to support them as best we can, especially given that the year group have had a turbulent few years.
The meeting will be held at Shevington High School on Thursday 15th September at 5:30. In the meeting we will discuss the changing expectations, what they need to do and when they need to do it, so that you can help them to get organised. There will be chance for you to ask any questions on the evening.
We want all of our students to do their very best and we want to support our students and their families as much as possible so that they are ready to succeed.
Monday 12th September 2022
Dear Parent / Carer
I am writing to you today following the extremely sad news last week regarding the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II on Thursday, the government has decided that the State Funeral will be on Monday the 19th of September. This will be a bank holiday. They have directed schools to close for the duration of that day like all normal bank holidays.
Their guidance states: ‘The official date of the State Funeral is 19 September 2022. This day will be a bank holiday and settings that are normally closed on a bank holiday should close on this day as a mark of respect. This will include schools and colleges.’
The country is now officially in a period of national mourning until the end of the state funeral on the 19th of September. However, this week there should be no interruption to attendance and school will be open as normal throughout this week. The government guidance states ‘for schools and further education settings normal attendance is expected throughout the National Mourning period, other than the bank holiday’.
In school on Friday we had some reflection time in form groups and held a minute’s silence as a mark of respect to the Queen. This week as part of national mourning we will be continuing to reflect further on the life of the Queen and work on British Values and the royal succession.
Yours sincerely
Mr J Grant – Headteacher
