English Curriculum Intent

• Students will work towards challenging goals which they have set themselves.  These goals are clear and provide a framework for progress towards GCSE success, enabling students to take ownership of their progress. Teachers will guide progress through effective feedback.
• A love of reading a variety of texts and having proficient literacy skills are a key skill for life; we want to enthuse pupils to harness the power of words in both written and spoken form.
• We will inspire students to believe that ‘Life is what you make it!’, and that goals are achievable with personal commitment, determination and resilience.
• We always aim for excellence!  We work together as a team of students and staff to achieve the best that we can by collaboratively striving for success .
