It is Shevington High School’s vision that all pupils should flourish and achieve, becoming amazing individuals, overcoming potential inequality caused by disadvantage. Pupil Premium funding is dedicated to achieving this purpose, raising achievement for those identified.
All pupils have equal access to the curriculum. As a result, more pupils are achieving their potential in the work they produce in lessons. This is the case for disadvantaged pupils. Ofsted, May 2026
The targeted and strategic use of Pupil Premium Funding will support all pupils regardless of disadvantage to be able to:
- Improve their level of attainment and progress
- Improve their attendance
- Have a full access to our curriculum
- Access our extra-curricular and enrichment programmes
Leaders use pupil premium funding to enhance the life chances of pupils. This includes the removal of any financial barriers to trips or clubs that pupils may face….. They routinely tailor bespoke support plans to ensure that every pupil has the best chance to succeed….This is highly impactful in improving the wellbeing and academic success of these pupils. Application for Free School Meal Eligibility and Pupil Premium
The Department for Education (DfE) is expanding eligibility for Free School Meals (FSM) from the start of the 2026/27 academic year.
Who Is Eligible for Free School Meals?
From September 2026, all children living in households receiving Universal Credit will be eligible for Free School Meals, regardless of household income.
Free School Meals are available to pupils whose parent, carer, or guardian receives one of the following benefits:
- Universal Credit
- Support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
A pupil will only be eligible to receive Free School Meals where:
- A claim for the qualifying benefit has been made; and
- Eligibility has been successfully verified by the school
Households may also qualify if they:
- Receive Income-Related Employment and Support Allowance (ESA)
- Receive the Guarantee Credit element of Pension Credit
- Meet the criteria set out in separate guidance for families with No Recourse to Public Funds (NRPF)
