Key Stage 3
- Rationale: Homework is an integral part of learning, reinforcing classroom knowledge and promoting good study habits. It is designed to be effective and manageable, supporting student progress.
- Outline:
- Tasks: Varied tasks such as knowledge organiser retrieval practice, online revision, reading, comprehension, and extended writing projects.
- Frequency: 30 minutes per week in English, Maths & Science. All other subjects will be 15 minutes per week.
- Setting and Monitoring: Homework is set and monitored by each subject teacher.
Key Stage 4
- Rationale: Homework supports the transition to GCSEs, focusing on revision, knowledge retrieval, and independent study skills. It aims to build confidence and prepare students for exams.
- Outline:
- Homework Overview: Provided at the start of each half term, outlining the types of tasks, assessment methods, and support resources.
- Tasks and Frequency:
- Core Subjects (English, Maths, Science): 1 hour per week.
- Optional Subjects: 30 minutes per week.
- Independent Revision: Students are encouraged to create a homework/revision timetable, dedicating five hours per week to independent study.

- Purpose: Homework's primary goal is to increase knowledge and understanding.
