Geography Curriculum
Geography Curriculum Intent
At Shevington High School, we believe that Geography is about more than just maps and places; it's about understanding our world and our role in it. Our vision is to empower every student to truly live out our school's ethos: 'Life is What You Make It!'
We do this by bringing the world to life through a unique and challenging curriculum. We want to spark a genuine curiosity in our students, helping them see their local surroundings and the vast global community with fresh eyes. This means fostering respect for diverse environments and cultures, and igniting the aspiration to delve deeper into our complex world, enabling them to think, write, and speak like a geographer.
Through an inclusive approach, we encourage every student to critically investigate how human actions shape our planet. We equip them with valuable transferable skills and instil a deep sense of kindness and responsibility towards both people and the environment. Ultimately, we inspire our students to think in new ways, becoming proactive global citizens who are ready to make a positive difference throughout their lives.
