Physical Education Curriculum
Physical Education Curriculum Intent
In Physical Education, our aim is to create young people who develop a love for sport and physical activity which they can take into their future lives. We aim to do this by creating an environment where students feel safe, have fun and are challenged to learn through the medium of PE and Sport. There are 5 main focuses elements to achieve this within lessons.
- Health and Fitness
- Skill and Performance
- Key knowledge
- Social and Emotional aspects
- Leadership
Students follow content according to the National Curriculum for Physical Education, allowing them to experience a balanced and varied curriculum allowing students to participate in a wide variety of activities covering invasion games, net and wall games, striking and fielding, physical fitness, aesthetics and athletics. Pupils also experience opportunities of team building, problem solving and outdoor adventure activities.
