Science Curriculum
Science Curriculum Intent
At our school, we aim to be an inspiring Science Department that ignites curiosity and fosters a desire to find out “why?” where students are driven by a desire to discover why things happen and how they work. We believe that science is not just a subject; it’s a way of understanding ourselves and the world around us.
We aim to cultivate transferable skills such as critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical reasoning. By encouraging students to analyse facts and value evidence-based inquiry, we empower them to question facts, and become innovative thinkers who excel in the future study of science.
By exploring scientific practices through practical work, we celebrate the idea that: "we are all scientists". Every student has the potential to contribute to scientific discourse and discovery. A career in Science is accessible to all students, and we strive to demonstrate the diverse opportunities that exist in this field - there is a role in Science for everyone.
Together, we will build a community of inquisitive minds ready to explore, innovate, and excel in their future endeavours.
