Teacher of Art (1 Year Fixed Term Contract)

Overview

We are looking to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic Art Teacher to join our successful Art Department on a 12-month fixed-term basis. Art is a popular and successful subject at Shevington High School, delivered across KS3 and KS4, and the department also offers GCSE Photography. We are looking for someone who shares our ambition to build on the successes of the team and provide an excellent experience for our students.

Required from: January 2027 for a 1 Year fixed term contract

Personal attributes

The successful candidate will have strong subject knowledge and the ability to deliver high-quality Art teaching across KS3 and KS4. Experience of teaching Photography would be an advantage but is not essential. Our curriculum is well established and comprehensively resourced, with schemes of work, lesson materials and supporting resources in place. We are looking for a teacher who will make effective use of these resources while bringing their own creativity and expertise to the classroom and working collaboratively with colleagues.

All students also have access to their own device to support research, creativity and the development of their work.

Alongside delivering high-quality lessons, we want someone who will encourage students to be ambitious and creative and who will look for opportunities to enrich their experiences through extracurricular activities and wider opportunities that bring the subject to life.
